Have you imagined staying in an impeccable place, full with traditional Balinese village ambiances and it’s constructed from natural materials and adorned by the Balinese furniture and local fabrics? I can say Ubud is the right place to make that imagination true to life. I have visited Ubud more than five times and in my last visit I chose to stay at Awang-Awang, one of many Luxury villas for rent in Ubud Bali. My friends from Australia had recommended this villa to me. They said the villa was different and one of the most sought-after Ubud villas. When I stepped into the villa, I was mesmerized by the surrounding. It was almost like Ubud Hanging Garden or even Como Shambala Estate. Awang-Awang is built on the highland overlooking the hilly surroundings. Awang Awang means “floating in the space between heaven and earth” – which is a great illustration for the villa, nestled on the edge of a ravine with excellent views of the sacred Petanu River and the flourishing tropical forests. An abundant of traditional materials is well-implemented right through to go with the environment, from the alang-alang thatched roofing, hand-made terracotta floor-tiles, as well as stone and marble, all are handmade by the skillful Ubud artisans. The villa is not equipped by the air conditioned since during my stay I savored the natural cross breezes over water gardens. What a great place ever!
